Peptide vials are one of the hardest labelling jobs we get asked for. The vial is small, so every millimetre of the wrap counts. It goes straight from the filling bench into a −20 °C or −80 °C freezer, comes back out to warm on the bench, and goes in again — and each of those cycles puts condensation between the label and the glass. Anything printed on the wrong stock curls at the edges, lifts at the seam, or turns into a smear the first time somebody wipes the vial with isopropyl alcohol.

We build these the same way we build the rest of our cold-chain work: a synthetic facestock that will not wick moisture, an adhesive chosen to key at low temperature instead of going hard and letting go, and inks sealed under a laminate or varnish so the compound name, the lot, the expiry and the 2D code stay legible for the whole life of the vial.

What we print on peptide vials

  • Wrap-around vial labels for 2R through 10R glass — typically 2" × 1" up to 3" × 1.5", with the seam sized so the artwork closes without a step.
  • Variable data — lot codes, fill weights, expiry dates and unique QR / Data Matrix codes printed inline, so each lot leaves with its own traceable label.
  • Fixed compliance copy — “For laboratory research”, “Not for human consumption”, “Research use only” and your storage line, set at a size that stays readable on a 22 mm body.
  • Carton, pouch and shipper labels to match, so the outer packaging and the vial read as one system.

Materials

Built for the freezer, not just the shelf

The stock does the work. Here is what we normally put a peptide vial on, and why.

  • Matte white BOPP or polyester — dimensionally stable, will not soften or wick water when condensation forms on the glass.
  • Low-temperature adhesive that stays tacky down to freezer and deep-freeze temperatures instead of crystallising and releasing at the seam.
  • Clear laminate or protective varnish so alcohol, DMSO splashes and glove handling do not lift the print.
  • Cryogenic stock when the vials go into liquid-nitrogen vapour phase — see our cryogenic labels page for that end of the range.
  • Clear or metallic facestock when you want the vial and the fill to show through rather than a solid white wrap.

What we need from you

Vial dimensions

Body diameter and the straight (label-able) height of the vial. If you have a sample vial, send one with your artwork — it settles the wrap length faster than a drawing. How to measure a label.

Print-ready artwork

Vector art with fonts outlined, 1/8" bleed and your copy kept clear of the seam. Our art specifications and file requirements cover the detail — or send what you have and we’ll set it up.

Your variable data

Lot codes, fill weights, expiry dates and the payload for the QR / Data Matrix code, as a spreadsheet. Tell us how many labels per lot and we’ll sequence the roll to match.
